Commun., 273 (1977)., reported the observation of a donor-acceptor complex between TMPD and TCNQ in chloroform solution and discuss the possibility of electron transfer taking place via such a complex. The possibility of a thermal transition from a donor-acceptor complex to an ion radical salt in a solid has been mentioned,33a and, recently,33b it has been suggested that certain solids obtained from reaction of TCNQ and dialkyl dihydrophenazines may be near the neutral-ionic transition.
