    • Recently, new ideas proposed for the cuprates [, ] allow rough calculations of the superconducting critical temperature given the hole dispersion and assuming attraction between pairs caused by antiferromagnetism [see also, 40, 9162, ]. Applying this formalism with the dispersion obtained from the t-t′-J model with t′=-0.35t, a d-wave superconductor with a critical temperature Tc∼40 K is obtained. This is in excellent agreement with the measured Tc in Sr2CuO2F2+δ as reported in, B. Shraiman, E. Siggia, Phys. Rev. B, M. Al-Mamouri, P. P. Edwards, C. Greaves, M. Slaski, Nature, 369, 382, giving more support to the ideas described in this paper.

    • The values of the parameters used in Ref. 16 were based on preliminary estimates for three-band Hubbard model parameters. In what follows we use what are believed to be better estimates—e.g., these parameters properly reproduce the Cu-Cu superexchange to be 0.128 eV.
