    • note
    • In the experiments, the nondimensional frequency 2πf=cα and the spanwise wavenumber β was given, nondimensionalized using the local displacement thickness. The fundamental frequency was 0.014 in both the experiments (x≃390) and in the present DNS (x≃10). The experimental parameters for the subharmonic were f=0.0085 and β=0.26 at x≃780 and an amplitude of approximately 3%. The corresponding parameters from DNS were f=0.0096 and β=0.23 at x=70 and 8% amplitude.
