- The analogy between plasma waves in a FET and water waves goes even further. While in the case under consideration (kd << 1 ) the plasma waves with ω app k are similar to the shallow water waves; in the opposite limiting case kd >> 1, the plasma waves have the same dispersion law ω app k1/2 as the gravitational waves in deep water.
