    • The chemisorption of C2 H2, Fe, and Cu is theoretically treated in, and Ad van der Avoird, and 103, 416 (1981). These authors explain the weaker adsorption on Cu through a repulsion between occupied C2 H2_ valence levels and the 3D band of Cu. This effect should be bigger in the case of Ag, with a lower-lying 4D band, closer in energy to the C2 H2_ valence levels.
