In this paper we assume the essential features of the carbene-olefin mechanism for metathesis: 1970, 141, 161-176. We also assume that both the carbene and the olefin are bound to the metal. Model geometries were taken from structures of metal-carbene and-olefin complexes. For example: Casey, C. P.; Burkhardt, T. J.; Bunnell, C. A.; Calabrese, J. C. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1977, 99, 2127-2134.
