Note that the definition we use here for the spin-valve efficiency differs from the one used by some other authors who take the difference of the resistances for A and A P configurations, normalized by the resistance of the P configuration. Our definition yields smaller numbers (typically by a factor of 2); it has the advantage that the spin-valve efficiency is strictly bounded between -1 and +1.
