    • note
    • N→∞N/2Q→v), but the value of α, which is crucial for finite systems, depends on the physics of the incompressible state. In this paper, the filling factor is attributed to a finite system assuming the familiar physics that has been successful in explaining the fractions n/(2pn±1). A different origin of incompressibility could possibly imply a different relation between N and 2Q.
