    • We do not take into account those coherent properties of the exciton (or Peierls) insulators which depend on the spatial variation of the dielectric order parameter phase. In particular, the Shapiro steps on the CVC of the electromagnetically irradiated junctions or the dynamics of the nonlinear Fröhlich conductivity (Ref. 16) are beyond the scope of this article. But these phenomena seem not to alter the quasiparticle current in the adiabatic approximation adopted here.
