For the density functional calculations we used the ADF basis set IV and the local exchange-correlation function by Vosko, Wilk and Nusair [13] with Becke's nonlocal exchange correction [14] and Perdew's nonlocal correlation correction [15] including scalar relativistics (see [11d] and references therein). The inner core shells up to 2p for Si, 4d for Sn and 1s for C were treated within the frozen-core approximation [11d].
