17. We note, however, that even in the stressed case, the para-exciton spectrum is not completely explained. Its nonzero width and slight blueshift have been modeled by H. Shi, G. Verchaka, and A. Griffin [Phys. Rev. B 50, 1119 (1994)] in terms of many-body interactions within the gas. Understanding this spectrum remains one of the outstanding problems of the quantum-degenerate exciton system.
