    • The commercially available dinucleotides were purchased from Sigma Chemical Co. and included: d(AA), d(AC), d(AG), d(AT), d(CA), d(CG), d(CT), d(TA), d(TC) and d(TG) d(TT). The remaining 5 dinudeotides, d(CC), d(GA), d(GC), d(GG) and d(GT) were synthesized by Clontech Laboratories. The symbols A, C, G and T correspond to the nucleic acid bases adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine, respectively.
