    • Note that if classical pulses are used instead, as from an attenuated laser, they must be sufficiently weak that the average photon number per pulse is less than 1, so that the probability of two photons in a pulse is much less than 1; otherwise, an eavesdropper could measure one of the photons, sending on the other, undisturbed photon.
