    • It is important to note that MCM-41-type materials do not exhibit Bragg reflections from planes parallel to their tubes (i.e., in hkl, l = 0), and thus long-range order simply refers to the regularity of the honecomb network of pores. For applications in which transport in to and out of the materials is critical, the regularity along the direction of the pores is probably far more important. Unfortunately, this is quite difficult to routinely analyze.
