    • In our SHG experiment we also probe electric quadrupole allowed transitions, like the sup 1Hg (see Fig. 3). However, the calculations of Negri, Orlandi, and Zerbetto (Ref. onlinecitenegri) and our calculations (Ref. onlineciterobert) show that the sup 1Hg state is about 300 meV above the sup 1T1g, far out of our detectable range.
