F., Haertle, T., and Gushlbauer, W.d(GpG) was prepared according to a known procedure [3] and purified by column chromatography (Lichropsep RP18, eluent: linear gradient from 0 to 15 per cent of CH3CN in 0 05 M TEAB, pH 7-5). The fractions with purity >95 per cent (H.P.L.C.) were converted into the sodium salt with a Dowex 50WX8. The final product was analysed by T.L.C., H.P.L.C. and U.V. spectroscopy.
