55. A similar observation was made for this low vapor pressure substance by Morgner et al. Ref. 27 who reported a value of only 0.4 eV for the offset. In Ref. 27 the shift was attributed to the electromotive force of the electrochemical half cell, an effect which can be neglected in our method. The streaming potential correction procedure (see Section I and Appendix) eliminates both the effects of charge separation and all effects due to standard electrochemical boundary potentials, such as the ζ potential and the electromotive force of the electrochemical half cell. Therefore this additional contact potential must have another origin.
