    • Canadian History Alive and Well
    • The Recent Publications Relating to Canada section of the Canadian Historical Review 78 (1997) listed twenty-one books published on the history of the Maritime provinces alone in 1997. The same volume listed publication of twenty-eight books on political history and forty-three on foreign relations and military affairs for the period since 1867. National History does not appear to be as dead as Dr. Granatstein seems to believe. See Desmond Morton, 'Canadian History Alive and Well,' Montreal Gazette, 24 May 1998
