    • For the Fe/Cr superlattices of Ref. 1 tFe= 30 ~ A ang, tCr ranges between 9 Å and 18 Å and, according to the analysis of the residual resistivity values in Ref. 14, λ app 19 ~ A ang.

    • As a large MR can be accounted for only by assuming that Tuarrow and Tdarrow are very different, this implies | Tuarrow- Tdarrow| approx 1. The largest values of the resistivity are obtained with Tuarrow= 0 (or Tdarrow= 0 ) and Tdarrow (or Tuarrow) close to 1. They can be calculated either from Eq. (30) or from the classical Fuchs-Sondheimer expressions for a multilayer composed of independent layers of thickness ( tFe+ 2 tCr) and tFe. These two calculations give similar results.
