    • Band E appeared in the PIES of a 5 MLE film as well whereas the sharp peak at 3.2 eV due to the σ conduction bands of graphite was missing in the ultraviolet photoelectron spectrum of the same film, which denies the possibility that the substrate was detected in the PIES. Hence, we attribute band E of the monolayer to the molecules.
