    • Recent NMR measurements, for example, on (Formula presented) suggest that the hole concentration differs between the pyramidal (Formula presented) layers and the square (Formula presented) plane by a factor of 1.37-1.64 [K. Mikhalev et. al Czech. J. Phys. 46 Suppl. S2, 1131 (1996)]. However, the averaged Cu valence seems to be a more appropriate parameter to consider here, since these different layers exhibit an identical (Formula presented) and are probably more strongly coupled in the superconducting state.
