32. The jellium TDLDA static value (Formula presented) (Ref. 37) for a density corresponding to Au. However, it has been shown that band-structure effects may decrease this value by a factor ≈(Formula presented), and that the application of a negative potential in the metal-electrolyte interface increases it (Ref. 23). Moreover, the presence of the adsorbate is expected to change the tail of the electronic density profile outside of the metal, further modifying (Formula presented) (Ref. 24). Therefore, we took (Formula presented) as an adjustable parameter and chose (Formula presented) since it gives a good fit to the experimental results and is within the expected range.
