12. An attempt to determine the Preisach distribution was made by G. Bertotti, V. Basso, and G. Durin, J. Appl. Phys. 79, 5764 (1996). However, that approach contains a logical inconsistency, because the Preisach distribution is guessed from conditions of stationary motion under constant rate of increase of the input, which is different from the conditions pertaining to a closed loop. Therefore, the Preisach distribution obtained in that case is incorrect.
