Nevertheless, a fast component derived from 2 clearly exists as is demonstrated in the transient behavior during the 7 ns pulse between 300 and 380 nm (see ref 38 and Supporting Information). Furthermore, they report no rising absorbance at 390 nm with added 0.025 M adamantane which was observed in ref 23 with either 0.5 M cyclohexene or 2 M 2-butanol. This is not surprising since more substrate would be needed to approach the quenching rates and product yields apparent in ref 23.
